One of the best campgrounds we have ever been to. Obviously a previous KOA, now independent. Good price. Immaculate pool. I saw the lady cleaning the pool in the evening and early next morning. Clean, well maintained bathroom. Some pull through sites, some back in, tent sites, and cabins with split HVAC. Lots of shade trees. Rural but 5 bars T-MOBILE cellphone service. Convenient from the Interstate but far enough away so there is no road noise. Woke up to birds singing and cows mooing. We will make this our regular stop when we travel this way again.

Stayed in one of the camping cabins for a weekend. Cabin was well equipped with mini heater and fan, which came in hand since it got cold at night. The cabin we got was pretty close to the one next to us, which wasn't the biggest deal since our neighbors weren't disruptive. However, didn't feel so safe since we were very close to the driving lane of the park. Fortunately there were barely any cars driving in and out. Bathrooms and showers were clean. They also have a dog fenced area. The park is a close drive to starved rock. It would be nice to be able to stay in one of the larger cabins, hopefully they make them dog friendly in the future. Restrooms: Clean restrooms and showers Dog-friendliness: Small cabins are dog friendly. There is also a fenced area for dogs.

This is the second time we stayed here as we traveled between Wisconsin and West Virginia. Next time we travel this route or area we plan to park and rest here a few extra days. The staff is friendly and helpful. The campground is clean, partially wooded, and pretty. We had a pull through long enough to accommodate our truck and 37 foot 5th wheel without unhitching. The site was wide enough to open awning and slides without encroaching on neighbors.
